Gianna picked Aunt Bekah's name. It was fun to talk with her and learn about some of her favorite things.

She lives in Aliso Viejo, CA

We learned about letter "R" for Rebekah :) Naomi is coloring with her dr. mask on- she just really wanted to. so funny!! Bekah's favorite color is Red- deep dark crimson red.

For lunch- she likes a really yummy turkey sandwich with all the delicious stuff. I made Naomi just a simple turkey sandwich and she loved taking it to school.

Bekah has 2 favorite books; when she was little it was "Journey to the rainbow's end" and now it is "Falling for Rapunzel." We couldn't find the first book at the library but found the 2nd and had fun reading it. We are going to skype with Aunt Bekah and have her read the other one to the girls :) That will be fun!

Favorite thing to do: READ (she read 30books last year!!!! That's amazing!!), blog and going to the movies. Here daddy is reading to Naomi.

Favorite primary song: When I am baptized. The girls fell in love with this song once they heard the word "rainbow" in it. Now it is called "the rainbow song" ;) The only problem with this, is Naomi has named 3 other songs this title to, so it is no more a title but now a category. When we are driving in the car and Naomi says "let's sing the rainbow song" I have to go through about 3 songs before I know wich rainbow song she is talking about :)

Aunt Bekah also likes Search, Ponder and Pray.

Favorite dessert is Strawberry shortcake. It was really yummy!!

Bekah LOVES french onion soup and strawberry lemonade for dinner. I was going to try to make this but ended up picking it up at Costco. It was really good and some thing very new for the girls.

Aunt Bekah's favorite story in the scriptures is when Jesus invites the little children to come to him. He blesses them and angels come down and circle them. Beautiful story- the girls love this story too. And every time we read it they say "I want to see Jesus"

For work- Bekah is a wonderful stay at home mom for sweet little Emma but along with that- she is also the lead project manager for a company called Anolinx.

Naomi picked Grandpa DeMille's name to spotlight this past week. We had a fun week trying some of his favorite things.

Grandpa lives in Napa, California.

We learned about the letter "S"

His favorite books are Dr. Seus books- so we read The Cat in the Hat. He also likes to make up stories that start with "It was a dark and dreary night."

His favorite colors are Red and Blue

His favorite primary song is Book of Mormon stories. The girls had fun learning this song.

Dinner he loves: Steak, double stuffed potatoes, killer bread (bread Grandma makes and there is so much good stuff on there that it would probably kill you :)

Grandpa love to: play with grandkids or in our part skype with them :) build things, Garden and build ponds/waterfalls. Their girls and I did some planting in our garden.

Favorite story in the Scriptures is Moses and the 10 Commandments.

Favorite dessert is brownies with marshmallows on top.

For work- Grandpa is a plumber and does a great job at it!

For lunch is love to head to Taco Bell and his favorite place for breakfast is McDonalds. We love you Grandpa!!

Happy Birthday to Grandma- Naomi picked Grandma's name to spotlight this week and what a great week because it was her birthday.

We learned about letter "K" for Grandma's other name Kathy

She lives right here in Hawaii on the island O'ahu

Favorite thing for dinner is Pasta. We are celebrating her birthday dinner at Buca di Beppo. The girls LOVED eating the spagetti. I think Gianna went through 6 napkins- she had a lot of fun getting the sauce all over the place.

Loves waffles for breakfast- here we are eating waffles at Grandma's house.

She loves to read- Daddy reading to Naomi.

Favorite school subject- she loves Math but is having a lot of fun learning more about Art History.

Favorite dessert is Chocolate cake. We had chocolate cake for her birthday cake at Buca de beppo but I didn't get a picture of it.

Favorite story in the scriptures is when Jesus visits the Nephites and invite the little children to come to Him. He blesses them and the Angels incircle them. Such a beautiful story. There is a new primary song that the girls and I sing about this story.... "I know that my Savior loves me"

Mom is an incredible Mother and wonderful Grandmother of 11 grandkids. The girls ask about everyday if they can go to Grandma's house :) She also teachers at University of Phoenix- teaching all sorts of different topics. We had so much fun trying some of Grandma's favorite things. We love you Grandma!!

Gianna picked Ammon's name to spotlight this last week. We skyped with him last sunday and he is such a funny kid. We were just laughing as he answered different questions. Cool kid Ammon!!

We learned about letter "A" and the #5 (he turns the big 5 this month)

He lives in Bountiful, Utah- right now he has a lot of snow at his house and the girls have fun looking at all the snowy pictures.

His favorite color is Green

He likes Ravioli for dinner- he said the same as Nohea.

For dessert he likes Frosting on graham crackers. At the time we were talking to him he was in-charge of dessert for FHE and this is what he picked. Yummy!!

When he comes home from preschool he likes PeanutButter and Jelly sandwich for lunch.

His favorite book is "Pingo" He said- this book is so funny. My parents gave this book to each family. Naomi was excited that she had the same one. When Ammon showed us the book over skype, Naomi ran and got her book to show him. It was really cute!

His favorite primary song is "Scripture Power" and loves the part where you get to hold your scriptures up in the air. That's my favorite part too and the only part I know in that song :) haha!

His favorite thing to do is go on lego.com :) He had his birthday party today and the theme was Legos- it was super cute and looked like a lot of fun!!

When we asked him what his favorite story in the scriptures- he said "hum..... Alma chpt 1" Matt and I looked at each-other and was like what's in Alma chpt 1?? I guess we'll have to read that- hahaha but then he said the story about the Good Shepherd. Aaron said he talks about this alot and even in his prayers.

His favorite toy is his little white doggie. I couldn't find a picture of his white doggie but close enough. He aso told us his favorite video game and showed us his new "Happy" dance- we had a fun time talking with Ammon. It was a fun week trying some of his favorite things. Love you Ammon!!

Gianna picked Emma's name to spotlight- we had so much fun learning more about her. We learned about letter "E" and the #1

She lives in Southern California, Aliso Viejo.

For lunch she likes avocado, cottage cheese, pretzels and bananas. We tried cottage cheese- the girls haven't had this for a long time so it was fun to try it again.

Dessert- she likes frozen yogurt

Emma's favorite toy is her minnie mouse doll and her fisher price walking toy. Gianna loves minnie mouse too and Naomi gave her this minnie mouse doll for Christmas. But when we talked with Emma it was before Christmas and Aunt Bekah showed us Emma's minnie mouse doll and naomi goes "o- that's Gianna's doll" (knowing that was what she was giving Gianna for Christmas) and then turns to Gianna and says "surprise" hahaha. Luckily Gianna is so young she had no clue what Naomi was talking about. But Gianna was super happy when she opened her present on Christmas.

Emma loves to go to the movies, have dance parties and walk :) We took the girls to see Chipwrecked. They were so excited and had a lot of fun!

Her favorite book- Happy Hippo Angry Duck.

Favorite primary song- I'm a child of God- the girls love singing this song too.

Favorite story in the scriptures is Noah's Ark. Emma has this toy and loves playing with it. When skyping with Emma, the girls loved seeing her toy and wanted to go to her house and play with her.

So, its been awhile since the last post but we kind of took a break for Christmas and New Years. We had a lot of fun learning about cousin Emily and trying some of her favorite things. We learned about the letter "E" and the #2

she lives in West Jordan, UT.

Favorite thing to do- Play with her dolls and babies. The girls LOVE this too. This is a new doll that Gianna got from Christmas and it turns out this doll is bilingual- hahaha. Matt and I had no idea. We actually found it on clearance- so I was super stoked about that BUT has Gianna was playing with it we noticed that she goes from english to spanish-hahaha- we had to call Uncle Kyle so he could translate for us.

Favorite thing for lunch- grilled cheese sandwich.

Favorite dessert- Ice cream with cookies. YUMMY!!

Favorite toy- Barbie Cinderella. Naomi has this doll as well and loves it too. She always asks me to make her hair like Cinderella.

She lives in Utah

We learned about letter "N", the #7 and her favorite colors are Yellow and Orange

Nohea has lots of things she likes to do: play soccer, swim, word searches, write, color. We tried one of them- soccer. Lauren and Sadie were over and played with us.

It was SO funny to teach Naomi and Lauren how to play soccer. The concept that they couldn't touch it with their hands just made no sense to them :) haha- they tried very hard to remember to only kick the ball. It was a lot of fun and they knew this was cousin Nohea's favorite thing to do.

Favorite thing for lunch is Salami and/or yogurt. the girls are HUGE fans of yogurt. Here is Gianna enjoying her yogurt. Kind of a funny picture. The flash wasn't working so we had to shine the flashlight on her- haha, she- as you can see- thought this was so funny.

Her favorite thing for dinner is Ravioli. Solomon and Naomi are trying it and liked it too.

Favorite dessert: Milk Shakes. We went to ColdStone and got a Strawberry milk shake(Naomi's pick). The girls LOVED it!! Drank that whole thing with no problem.

Favorite books: Fancy Nancy books- the girls had a lot of fun reading these books. They thought it was so fun!!

Favorite story in the scriptures are any Joseph Smith stories. We talked about Joseph Smith for FHE and we showed the video The Restoration. Naomi loved it and has asked to watch it about everyday.

Favorite school subject is Math and Social Studies

When she grows up she would like to be a professional swimmer or soccer player. Someday we would love to watch her play soccer and swim. We hear she is very good.

Her favorite thing to do at school is cut paper with scissors. Naomi liked doing this too and felt like such a big girl.

She loves chicken for dinner- we made chicken taquitos. The girls loves this, I think I might make more and freeze them.

When we asked her what her favorite dessert was- she said bubble Gum. The girls have never had bubble gum, so we got some. Okay- so hard to find just the classic bubble gum out there, found all sorts of kinds of gum, but I just wanted yummy classic bubble gum. well we found some gum and the girls tried it out :) It was so funny to watch them eat it.

Her favorite primary song right now is "Stars were gleaming" she actually said "stars were screaming" hahaha :)

Her favorite thing for lunch is chicken nuggets, I'm catching the pattern, she loves chicken :)

She lives in Bountiful, Utah

When she grows up she would like to own a Dance Studio and be a dance teacher. Here is Naomi in her first dance class- being taught by Aunt Kelsey. Naomi had fun dancing like Taryn :)

Taryn's favorite thing to do is DANCE!! Here is Naomi and Lauren and they had a really fun time dancing too. Taryn is a beautiful dancer and someday we hope to see one of her dance performances.

Her favorite book is "Alice the Fairy" I wasn't sure if I would be able to find this book at the library and was SO excited that we did. The girls loved reading this book. It was really cute!!

Her favorite dessert is Root-beer Floats- When we talked with her it was right after Thanksgiving and when we asked her this question she said sweet potatoes with Marshmallows- that is my favorite way to have sweet potatoes too and yes it is like a dessert :)

She had 2 favorite stories in the scriptures: Daniel and the Lion's den and David & Goliath. The girls had fun acting out Daniel and the Lion's den. Their favorite part was acting like Lions

Favorite subject in school is History- at the parent/child preschool Gianna and I attend we had fun in the History section and learned about the 1st snow-globe and we made our own snow-globe. We thought about Taryn.

Favorite thing for dinner- Salad especially with eggs in it.

Favorite thing for lunch- she loves the salad bar at school and also likes taking Ramen noodles for lunch. We had so much fun learning about Taryn. We love you!!

Her favorite thing for dinner is Chipotle Beef Taquitos from the book "Our best bites". We hadn't tried this recipe and it was so fun. The girls really liked it. We made extra and froze them for later :)

Her favorite thing to do is play with her kids- either reading books, making a craft or playing outside. The picture above, Matt and the girls went and played at the beach. They had a lot of fun!!

Favorite thing for lunch is Pizza. This is a favorite for the girls too.

Field Trip- Firestation

Naomi's class went on a field-trip to the Fire-station. Naomi's arm is around her friend Tate- that is who we carpool with in the mornings.

Matt was off this day and got to go with them. Matt's schedule is kind of all over the place and every week it is different and he works every weekend but the upside is his days off are random but during the week so he can do school stuff with Naomi. so fun!!

Her school is walking distance to the Fire-station so they all walked there.

Her buddy was Shayson. Matt said they had a lot of fun together and kept singing "Who let the dogs out" :)

Listening to the Firemen. They were telling the kids they don't need to be afraid especially when they are wearing their "costume" and they put it on to show the kids what they look like. But every time I ask Naomi what she does when she sees a firemen- she runs the other way :) I also asked her what does she do if she is on fire.... she says "I stop BUT I don't like to roll"

Gianna picked Grandma Knight to spotlight this week. This is Matt's Grandma DeMille's step-mom. This is the last picture I have of her. Naomi was only 7months old. I think they look so cute together. We are super excited because Grandma Knight is coming to Hawaii in Feb. 2012.

He lives in Hau'ula, HI BUT he is moving to utah for a few months :( We are going to miss him

Learned about letter "S" and the number #3. His favorite color is blue even though Naomi is certain that it is green :) She gave different people favorite colors and solomon's color was green but when I ask him, he says blue :)

His favorite story in the Scriptures is Samuel the Lamanite. Naomi is samuel standing on the city wall.

His favorite thing to do is play blocks and play outside. We had Lauren and Sadie over one day, so we are playing blocks all together.

His Favorite thing to do at school is play play-dough- he LOVES this and would stay at this station the WHOLE time if he could. Because he is moving, Tutu & Me teachers gave him blue homemade play-dough and play-dough toys. He was SO excited!!

His favorite dessert is Candy. He actually said this was his favorite food when I ask :)

Favorite thing for lunch is bananas. He pretty much eats anything but he does love his bananas.

Naomi was SO excited for her 1st dance class. And especially that it is being taught by her Aunt Kelsey.

Her dance class is just a short class- only for the month of November. Its every tuesday from 3:00-3:30pm. There are about 5 dancers in there. At the end of the month they will put on a show for the parents.

Kyle Patrick Paredes

Naomi picked Uncle Kyle's name to spotlight last week. We had a lot of fun learning about him. He is 30yrs old and his favorite color is Red.

He lives in Aliso Viejo, Ca.

Naomi's Field trip- Lo'i

Naomi's class went to the Lo'i (Taro patch). Daddy had off today and got to go with her. She was so excited to ride the bus. Both preschool classes went (3yrs and 4yr olds)

Community Helper potluck/dressup

At Tutu/Me for this month we have been focusing on Community helpers. Today we did a potluck and all the kids got to dress-up as a community helper. Gianna and I dressed up like Doctors.

2 policemen came and talked to the kids about what they do and let them all look and go inside their car. Even let them turn on the lights and horn. It was really fun!!

Gianna picked Sadie's name to spotlight this week. We had so much fun learning more about their cousin Sadie.

We learned about the #1

She lives in Waialua, Hi- on the island of Oahu. After talking about where she lives, Naomi says "mom, she lives the same place we live" haha, like it finally clicked, even though we see them all the time :)

She LOVES the water- so we went swimming at our pool.

She likes to place "hide and seek" Here Naomi and Gianna are heading in the laundry baskets from me :)

For lunch she likes yogurt and vegi sticks

Dinner: lasagna-- yum, yum!!

Dessert: Nilla Wafers. We made banana pudding w/ nilla wafers. I think the girls like the wafers alot better than the pudding- But I sure enjoyed both :)

This is her favorite animal and favorite, favorite toy :)

Her favorite book: Blue hat, green hat. We don't have this book so we looked it up on youtube and found a video of Sandra Boynton reading the book. The girls LOVED it. We watched that video so many times. Then Naomi ran and grabbed another Sandra Boynton book we do have and wanted me to read it but with the words of this book. She kept saying "opps" :) I think we might need to get this book :)

Pumpkin Patch

Tutu and Me went to the Pumpkin Patch for the October field trip.

It was so much fun BUT super HOT. And yes, poor Gianna is in long organe pants b/c they go with the season. :)

Family Spotlights

We are going to try something new and fun and I'm really excited. We are doing family spotlights- I'm excited because not only will the girls learn about different members of their family but also add some fun new activities and give me good ideas of activities to do through out the week.

I wrote everyones names on a piece of paper and placed them in this bowl. I put everyone- Grandmas, Grandpas, Aunties, Uncles and cousins.

Then Naomi and Gianna will pull out a name on sundays- then we'll try to connect with that person and ask them a few questions. Either skype, phone call, or email.

I picked questions that we'll be able create activities with for the girls and we'll do these things through out the week. Here are my questions...

1. What is your favorite color?

2. What is your favorite meal for dinner?

3. Favorite dessert?

4. Favorite thing to do?

5. FAvorite story in the scriptures?

6. Favorite school subject?

7. What do you do for work?

8. What do you like to take for school lunch?

9. Favorite children's book

10. What is your full name

I know we'll have to modify depending on who we are spotlighting..

Then through out the week well do certain activities that go around their answers...

Like-

Letter day- focus on the letter that their name starts with

Number day- focus on the number of how old they are

Learn on a map of where they live

Make their favorite lunch one day

Make their favorite dinner one night

Make favorite dessert

Scripture reading or FHE- focus on favorite scripture story

Go do their favorite thing one day

Color with their favorite color

- we'll change it up depending on the week but at the end of the week anything we make we'll mail to that person with a card from the girls :)

we'll see how it goes- I'm excited b/c it gives me ideas of what to do with the girls throughout the week :) A focus and objective to the different activities.

On the side- I might save all the information and might make a digital book called "family spotlights" and put everyone in there. we'll see. but this should be fun!! I'll do a post on the person we are spotlighting for the week. FUN!!

Aloha Week Parade

Our Halau (hula group) was ask to participate in the Aloha Week Parade and we were asked to represent the island of Kaua'i. It was a great honor to represent Kaua'i- that is where our hula comes from. The above picture- my brother made a 8' x 8' banner to hang behind the musicians on the float.

This was the walking banner and the theme of our float. 2 people walked in front of our float introducing our group.

The whole group on the float!! Standing next to the banner of all our sponsors. THANK YOU Sponsors!! Dad, Mom & Kia's business was a sponsor- AL&E and Kahea's printing business ROIsi-HD. Hardware Hawaii was also a big sponsor as they donated the flatbed truck, drivers and man power to put it all together.

We are really happy with our family photos. We took the girls photos first while Matt was still working and then once he was done he rushed over to Ko'olina and we took our family photos.

Angela Langley was the photographer. She is a new photographer and was looking for a family to do a trade with- she would take our photos and for our time she would give us a CD of the pictures. I saw the ad on craigslist. She did a great job!

Naomi was just happy the whole time and we got some GREAT photos. Gianna wasn't to sure about the camera and kept making interesting faces at it :)

A group of us from Relief Society got together and explored ChinaTown. 2 ladies go often and gave us a tour. It was really fun and now I feel pretty confident I can go on my own.

The Hardy family was awesome in letting us pile in their awesome van and driving us down.

Turner Family

A wonderful family friend- Turner family from Napa, Ca came to Hawaii. They were brining their youngest child Kyle to school at BYU-H. We were SO excited to see and visit with them. Ashley Turner is Matt and my age and we were all in the same home ward. They are a great family and we had so much fun with them.

Scarlet is Nicole's daughter. Naomi and Scarlet had matching swim suits. So funny- what are the odds that 1. we would have bought the same swim suit and 2. put them both in the same swim suit the same day. The girls had fun playing with Scarlet.

Family Camping- Ho'omaluhia botanical gardens

For Labor day weekend we went camping with the Kamauu family. It was so Fun!! This was our little ten. So sad that daddy couldn't come :( He got off late on friday night and then had to be up early for work. He tried to switch but couldn't. we'll have to take him back here b/c it was way fun.

We had Naomi and Gianna's cousins- Lauren and Sadie over. It was Kia and Kelsey's anniversary so we watched the girls while they went out. cute picture of them... tried so hard to get them all looking at the camera but Gianna LOVES sadie and couldn't stop talking to her.

Tutu and Me- Field Trip

The theme for Tutu and Me is "OCEAN" So for the field trip we went to this kind of hole in the wall place. but really fun. They taught the kids several different things about the ocean.

They had lots of aquariums and the kids got to put their hands inside and feel different things.

At the end they got to print a fish or shell on their shirt. Gianna is wearing her cute shirt. Naomi didn't go but love this picture of them together. :)

Kauai Trip-

The hula halau (hula group) I'm apart of, we took a trip to Kauai. This is where our hula comes from. It was SO beautiful and very interesting. I learned SO much. We flew out Friday evening and came back sunday evening. Matt and Naomi had a stayed home and had a fun time together.

They had so much fun splashing and playing. They were the only kids there this day. Solomon is a little fish in the water. Naomi is doing a lot better in the water- she doesn't go all the way under but she thinks she does when she lets the water come up to her nose.

took the girls to the beach- Naomi fell asleep by the time we got there so she slept in the stroller. Gianna LOVED seating on top like this and didn't really want to get down. So for most of the time, we were walking around like this ;)

Papa Honu (Turtle Class)

Took Naomi to visit her preschool before the "big" first day. Her school is right on the beach- way cool. She won't even realize how cool that is :)

Here is the school- her school is actually really small. There are only 2 classes. A 3yr old (Naomi's class) and a 4yr old class. In Naomi's class there are 16kids (8boys and 8 girls) and she has 2 teachers- Auntie Laurie and Auntie Cheryl.

We had such a FUN time at Ko'olina. My parents own a 3bedroom timeshare there and my grandparent's own a 2bedroom. They booked it for the 4th of July week. It was awesome and we had so much fun! Thanks so much Mom and Dad!!

Jared and the Hawaii cousins (Josh, Solomon, Naomi, Sadie, Lauren and Gianna)

Aaron and Jared flew in the week before and got to spend a little bit of time at Ko'olina before they flew back home. Jared came for a week long summer camp called "Explorations" at Kamehameha.

Pony Ride at Pupukea

For playgroup we had a wonderful opportunity to go on Pony rides. Thank you so much to Auntie Deborah who graciously offered to give all kids pony rides on their pony BUCKET and for Auntie Kelsey for organizing it. We had so much fun!! Above picture- kids getting instructions

It was raining off and on- so we decided to do pony rides inside the stable- while pony rides were going on we played outside so we didn't overwhelm Bucket.

Matt and the girls went to the beach the other day and had so much fun. Matt is so wonderful to take the girls out. I've been needing to get some things done, mainly I've been working on this feather lei- its taking forever b/c the feather's are so small but I have 10 more inches to go. Matt was so wonderful to let me work a few hours on it. I need to get this done by Aug. for hula. I love my husband- he is such a wonderful daddy. We are so lucky and blessed!!

USS Missouri

We had a wonderful opportunity of going on the USS Missouri. A great friend of our retired from the Army and had his retirement ceremony on the USS Missouri. It was such a honor to be invited. After the ceremony we got to walk around and take a tour of this great ship. We had a wonderful time!!

HAPPY FATHER'S DAY!! I am So thankful to be married to such a wonderful and incredible man that is an amazing father!! We love you so much Matt and all you do!!

I am also so thankful to have an incredible Dad and a wonderful Father in law. We are blessed in so many ways.

Above all- I'm eternally grateful for my Heavenly Father. My feelings which are hard to place into words- "....the Holy One, who gave His Son- the Father of us all"

Matt's backpacking trip in Maui

Matt went for a week long backpacking trip to Maui with the YM. He was SO excited and had an awesome trip. This picture is him standing on top of Hale 'Akala- 10,000 elevation. WAY Behind him you see 2 peaks, those are the 2 volcanos on the Big Island coming through the clouds.

It was a total of 50miles they did that week.

Happy Memorial Day weekend--Punchbowl National Cemetery

Sunday we went and visited Hawaiian Memorial in Kaneohe, where my grandparens, Great Aunt Iolani, Uncle Poni and Uncle Harvy are buried.

We put flowers and flowers leis on their graves.

Then we headed over to Punchbowl National Cemetery. It was beautiful-- flags are placed on every grave with a lei. My Uncle Samuel is buried here.

Field Trip-Kualoa Ranch

For Naomi and Gianna's last field trip of the school year- we went to Kualoa Ranch. The theme of the month was farm animals, so we came to the ranch to learn more about farms animals and plants.

We were so excited b/c Daddy got to come. Which meant Naomi and Daddy got to go on the bus. You have to be 2yrs or older to ride the bus, so usually we can't go b/c Gianna's is too little. So daddy and Naomi went and Gianna and I met them there.

Happy Mother's day

Mother's day was so wonderful. I'm so blessed and so thankful for my beautiful family- wonderful husband and 2 beautiful girls that call me "mommy" Matt is not the morning person in the family but woke up early to make me breakfast with 2 cute little helpers. Church was wonderful- priesthood taught our classes which was so nice and they made us a nice lunch. After church I got a awesome nap with the girls. I didn't think I was going to sleep but 1hr 30mins later- wow that felt good.

After we went over to Mom and Dads for dinner and wished my beautiful Mom a Happy Mother's day!! My mother is amazing and I love her so much. She has done and continues to do so much for me. She is an incredible Grandmother of 11 cute little ones.

I am so blessed with so many amazing mother's in my life. I learn so much from each one of them. I am so lucky for a wonderful Mother in Law. She is so thoughtful and loving and miss her. So thankful for technology that allows us to talk often and skype. Love these girls here in the photo and miss my sister and sister in laws. This year was Bekah's first mother's day- so excited for her.

Prayers for Solomon

Kawasaki Disease-

Solomon had been sick for the past 5days with a very high fever and not getting better. Thursday his eyes were getting really red and my brother took him in Thursday night. At the hospital his lips started turning really red and his mouth and tongue started to swell up. The hospital did several different tests and diagnosed him with a very rare disease- Kawasaki Disease

He stayed over thursday night and he is there tonight (friday) night as well. We went and visited him. Here Naomi and Solomon played around in the hospital and Naomi pushed Solomon in this car all around.

Drs have NO idea what causes Kawasaki disease but they do have a treatment and if they catch it early there could be no long term effects. It is very rare- only 16kids in 100,000 get it and it affects the heart. He is in the hospital receiving IVIG and then he will have follow up check ups for the next 10-20yrs. Royal Wedding

Naomi loved watching the Royal wedding and seeing a REAL princess. Basically she thinks all brides are princesses. Thought these pictures were so cute-- Naomi dressed like a princess and had Gianna hold her dress. Good thing for little sisters :)

Field Trip- Waimea Falls

For the field trip this month we went to Waimea falls. They taught the kids (keiki) about Malama 'Aina- taking care of our land.

Here they are looking out at the river and learning about the different plants that live there.

Keiki garden- they taught them how to grow and take care of a garden

poor little Gianna was not feeling well this day- this is how she was the entire time. She was such a trooper and just sat in the stroller. She slept on and off but was not feeling up to do anything.

here they are learning about natural pesticides- they made their own using lemon grass and then went around coating the plants, using a paint brush. they even had a little song "magic potion, protect our plants- protect them from the bugs and ants"

Grandma Kamauu even got to come. That was so fun!! After the field trip we ate lunch and then hiked up to Waimea Falls. We even swam for a little bit.

Poor little Gianna didn't feel good that day and the next. Our days were filled with vomiting and diarrea. Gross--- Gianna's diarrea was so bad that at night Naomi had a rough time going to sleep and called me in one time and said "Gianna has bubbles in her bum bum"

They were noisy and stinky. But felt bad for my little girl and just cuddled with her.

I am Eternally Grateful for what the Savior has done for me and for his immense love.

We had a beautiful Easter! Wonderful time at church listening to some great talks and then after went to my parents home. Easter dinner with family. It was wonderful!!

Happy Birthday to our sweet Naomi- she is the big "3" Here she is getting ready to head to the park for her party- we had her party on April 9th

We had her birthday at the splash park- she LOVED it. We got there at 10am to set up. Her party was from 11-1pm and we didn't leave until 4pm because she was playing.

Everything turned out great and Naomi had so much fun

splash zone- they have this area where you can get wet but then if you don't want to they have an awesome playground

We had a fairy birthday party- here is the cake with a waterfall coming down. Naomi loved it!!

the kids went on a "fairy Hunt" they had a list of 12 different fairies and had to go around the whole park to find them.

We were SO excited to be able to give Naomi a bike- my parents came across someone that was trying to give it away and if they couldn't they were just going to throw it away. We couldn't believe it- the bike is in great condition.

we got home after the party and Naomi was out- she had so much fun- it was just perfect

April 13- actual bday- daddy made Naomi waffles and eggs. Her favorite!

Matt took the day off because his cousin was getting married that day. Just happened to be Naomi bday-worked out so nice. We went to Naomi and Gianna's preschool in the morning. It was Yellow day for preschool. At her preschool every month is a different color and one of the days in the month you are suppose to where that color to school.

Everyone sang to Naomi and she got a birthday crown. We played there for a little bit, then went to the temple for the sealing and then reception later that afternoon. Wonderful Birthday!!

We are so blessed to have Naomi in our family and love her so much!!

Field Trip-Waialua Taro Patch

We went to the Taro Patch with Gianna and Naomi's preschool. We had so much fun. We were split in 3 groups.

Our first station we made a fish out of dried Ti leafs

We learned a song to sing with their fish. Here Naomi is singing with her fish

Then we learned how to pound the Taro to make poi

After pounding it they got to eat it. It was pretty good.

Then we got to go in the Lo'i (taro patch). This is where the taro is grown.

We went in the one they are getting ready to plant. The kids walked around to soften the ground. I was so proud of Naomi- she was brave and went in. I had no idea it was going to be that high. She had rain boats on but notice how you can't see them. They are completely filled up with water and mud.

Kim- holding Naomi's hand is one of the teachers for the preschool. She was so sweet to get in with all the kids.

Naomi was a little sad because now she was all muddy and dirty. She wasn't sure what she just got her self into :) But I'm so happy she did it.

Her boats are just caked with mud. After this we went over to the Natural spring pool they have and washed off. I should have gotten a picture of it because it was so neat. I was busy getting Naomi all cleaned up. But the spring pool was so fun-the kids just swam around and got all the mud off. They had a rop swing too. They also had showers there incase the kids didn't want to wash off in the spring.

Mtn Ka'ala

Matt and the YM hiked Mtn Ka'ala, camped at the top and then came back down. Here they are ready to start hiking- they started on the Waianae side.

Hiking up the Mountain- going fro sea level to 4,000ft above

almost there- 17miles round trip

Going up and going down was really steep and they rope to help them.

At the top- this mtn usually always has a cloud over it. Hence, the fog. You hardly ever see it clear up here.

Next morning- ready to head back down the otherside of the mtn to Waialua side

Our sweet little Gianna is the BIG "1" She had a sweetheart/pool party. She new it was a special day for her and was just super happy all day.

Naomi and Gianna before the big party- both very excited!!

We had SO many baby food jars- we used them as the party favors. I just filled them up with candy and placed a label around it.

Gianna LOVED the cake.

Pool party- YEAH!! Gianna is our water baby and had so much fun playing in the pool with her family and friends.

I take Gianna and Naomi to a little preschool that is for 0-5yrs and is a parent/child preschool. Here they are singing to Gianna.

Solomon (her cousin) turned 3- 2 days after Gianna's birthday. Both got special birthday crowns.

We are so happy to have Gianna girl in our family. We love her so much and can already tell she is going to keep us on our toes :)

she is such a joy to have and our little cuddle bug. Can't help but give her kisses and hugs all the time. I think Naomi gives them to her too many times :)

Naomi's bug bites

Naomi woke up saturday morning, 2/12, with 4 little red spots on her face. I didn't think much about it and thought she slept on her face a weird way. but then throughout the morning they didn't go away, so then I thought the poor thing got mosquito bites.

Here is a picture of her saturday during the day. This is a picture I zoomed in on her so the quality isn't the greatest. I didn't think to take a close-up picture of her b/c I had NO idea that the bites were going to turn into the most horrible bug bites ever. You can barley see the bug bites but by this time they were growing and I was wondering if something else bit her. The bites were also really warm. She had 2 on her left cheek, 1 on her nose, and 1 on her right cheek.

This is Sunday morning 2/13- She woke up and her whole face was swollen and the bites were worse. We took her into the After hours clinic and they said the bites were infected. Still not sure what bit her- Dr. said it could have been a spider or it could have ben a mosquito that was carrying something that her body reacted to. They gave her some antibiotics.

This one on her arm I didn't find until Saturday night (2/12)when I decided to give her a bath to check the rest of her body and there was a huge on on her arm. Poor thing :(

Feb. 16th-These pictures are 4days later. We took her back into the drs on 2/15 b/c the bites weren't getting any better. The dr. changed her antibiotics and said her infection was impetigo. The new antibiotics were nasty. Poor Naomi had to take it 2x/day for 10days. We did everything to help her get it down- ice cream, juice, candy, etc.

2/16- she ran a high fever and the dr. wanted to see her again to make sure the infection wasn't spreading.

2/17 we went in again for a follow-up and they were getting better. It was so reasuring to me knowing she was on the right track of getting better but slowly.

Feb. 19th-1wk later

March 3rd- all better :)

Field Trip-Fire Station

This month's theme (January) for Naomi and Gianna's preschool was "transportation" So we visited the Fire station. Well about 15min. into our tour the bells rang and the firemen had to go. It was literally just a few minuets after getting there. They showed the kids how to "stop, drop and roll", call 911, we were cool clothes and then the bells rang and they jumped in the fire truck and took off. The kids thought it was the coolest thing ever.

Here is Naomi covering her ears because the sirens were loud.

After we all looked at each other and were like "now what" So the teachers gave the kids there snack and we hung out for a bit.

Then the preschool across the street invited the kids to come and play for the rest of the time. The kids LOVED this field trip.

It was a lot of fun!!
